All good things must come to an end, and although we are appreciative that the end isn’t one of those middle-of-the-season abrupt endings and that we are lucky to have one final season on the way, we are still sad to report thatWu-Tang: An American Sagawill be ending. The series, based on the larger-than-life New York rappers, will conclude with its upcoming third season on Hulu.
The series is set in early 1990s New York, with the crack cocaine epidemic raging in the periphery. We see Bobby Diggs aka RZA as he attempts to bring together a group of Black men who are struggling between a life of music and crime and helps them bond together to form the Wu-Tang Clan. Unbeknownst to the group at the time, the hard work and dedication will pay off, as they end up becoming an underdog success story.

The second season showed viewers a down-and-out Clan as they struggled to live in the projects, with Bobby cheering them on with his vision of what life could be for them if they continued to push their musical talents. The possible new lease on life is a hard sell as the members are settled and used to their way of making money and living life. Plus, the resentment between Dennis, Sha, Power, and Divine is still pulling the group apart, while the others are just having a hard time surviving life in the city. Bobby steps up for the Clan with a fresh outlook and desire to lead the group to greatness.

Season 2 ends on a cliffhanger, as fans were celebrating the Clan’s newfound success as they landed a record deal and film a music video for their iconic song, “Protect Ya Neck,” but the celebration is short-lived as viewers watched a water pipe burst in Bobby’s basement causing the entire room to flood, seemingly wiping out the group’s five completed solo albums.
