In the latest episode ofUnashamed With the Robertson Family,Duck DynastystarJase Robertsongives an update regarding their health. Although one parent is on the mend, the other parent isnot doing so well.
Jase revealed last December thatPhil was in the early stages of Alzheimer’s, and he is also battling ablood disease. Sadly for Phil, his blood disorder is affecting his entire body, which results in mini-strokes. TheDuck Dynastylegendalso has multiple fractured vertebrae, which are causing his back issues, forcing him to retire and hand his business over toWillie Robertson. As for Kay, she suffered from a fall,which resulted in surgery.
Speaking on his father’s ill health, Jase only has sad news. “Tell you the truth,it hasn’t been good,” he said. “I’m just giving the blunt truth. I’ll say, ‘Not good.’”
“We’re making them comfortableandwe’re doing the best we can,” he continued. “So I think that’s just what you do.”
The ‘Duck Dynasty’ Star Revealed Positive News About Kay’s Health
Although Jase has shared a sad update regarding his father’s health, he does have some light-hearted news about Kay. Despite the positive news, the family had a scare about Kay’s health,as they feared she could die. Earlier this year, he had shared more details about Kay’s accidental fall.
“The people that around them 24/7, ‘cause obviously we can’t be around them at all times, sent me a very graphic picture when she cut her leg,” he said. “It was a horror show,it was severe. I was facing to get up onstage and I see this picture of my mom, I was like, oh man. I was like, ‘Get her to the hospital. I gotta speak.”
In the podcast, Jase told his listeners that Kay is on the mend, despite not doing well previously. “For my mom,it’s been a lot better this past week, because she was really not doing good,” Jase said. “She got an infection from a fall, from a cut that had happened earlier…she’s still in hospital, but [now it’s] more rehab, physically, and trying to get her to eat.”
“We were kinda dealing with the fact thatmaybe this is it,” he continued. “That’s what it seemed like in the moment. It seemed close there.So it was difficult.”
The health update comes as A&E announceda revival series ofDuck Dynastyearlier this year, which willpremiere this summer. The revival series will centre around Willie andKorie Robertson,withfamiliar faces expected to make special guest appearances.As Phil’s health battle worsens,fans should not expect to see Phil return.
