A new international trailer forT2 Trainspottinghas been released online, giving fans yet another look at the highly anticipated sequel. The film reunites Oscar-winning directorDanny Boylewith the original cast—RentonEwan McGregor), Spud (Ewen Bremner), Sick Boy (Jonny Lee Miller), and Begbie (Robert Carlyle)—as we pick up with theTrainspottinggang two decades later. While we’re still pretty short on plot details, this new international trailer features quite a bit of new footage that offers a tease of what kind of story we can expect.
It appears as thoughT2will connect to the first film pretty heavily, as the consequences of the gang’s actions come back to haunt them with unresolved business. Visually, this thing looks absolutely spectacular, as Boyle is working with cinematographerAnthony Dod Mantleto give the movie a manic, unhinged energy that evokes the first film. And it’s great to see all the characters back again.

These days, sequels are usually greenlit for massive blockbusters, so seeing a follow-up to an indie darling likeTrainspottingis heartening and should hopefully be a refreshing change of pace for the box office landscape when it hits theaters next spring. For now, take another look atTrainspotting 2in the trailer below. The film opens in the U.K. on July 20, 2025 and opens in limited release domestically on March 3rd before going wide on March 10th.
