The Voicehas made it official! Season 28 will see four returnees battling it out for glory. Joining the previously announcedSnoop Doggwill be current Season 27 coachMichael Bublé, as well asReba McEntireandNiall Horan.On the official Instagram, The Voice teased the announcement with the caption,“SNOOP. REBA. NIALL. BUBLÉ. Let us know which team you will be on this fall!”
In addition to the post,The Voiceteased a video showcasing the new quartet.Season 28 will mark the reunion of Reba McEntire, Michael Bublé, and Snoop Dogg,who all appeared together during Season 26. Niall Horan will occupy the spot previously held byGwen Stefaniduring that season. The official announcement comes on the heels of the end of Season 27, which currently features Bublé, rookie coachKelsea Ballerini, EGOT winnerJohn Legend, and original coachAdam Levine.
‘The Voice’ Has Four Returning Coaches For First Time In Years
In the overall history ofThe Voice, all four Season 28 coaches are relatively new to the competition. However, their track record speaks volumes about their success in the program. Of the four coaches,Snoop Dogg is the only coach in the bunch who has yet to win.Michael Bublé won during his rookie season,guidingSofronio Vasquezto victory. Snoop Dogg’s rookie season was also Season 26, where he made the finals withJeremy Beloate.
Niall Horan appeared for the first time during Season 23, where he won on his first time out thanks to his artist,Gina Miles. The next season, Reba McEntire joined the cast, but Niall was victorious for the second season in a row. This time, it wasHuntley. Niall Horan becamethe third coach to win multiple consecutive seasons, followingBlake Sheltonduring Seasons 2 through 4 andKelly Clarksonduring Seasons 14 and 15. Reba McEntire was able to net a victory when Niall Horan left as she won Season 25 with singerAsher HaVon. With Snoop as the only lone coach without a win, the stakes are higher than ever. Despite no new coach for the first time in seasons, fans can expect something familiar for Season 28.The VoiceSeason 28 will return this Fall on NBC.
