In a recent interview, Lillard shared that screenwriter and Five Nights At Freddy’s creator,Scott Cawthon,did what he does best - listening to the community. He revealed that the latest script has addressed the criticism the fans gave for the first film and teased that its sequel may be “more action-packed” and could have more jump scares. He also shared that the storytelling has “amped up,” but their budget remains small sinceFive Nights At Freddy’sis “still sort of an independent little horror movie.” Regardless, Lillard believes fans will enjoy the next film, just like they enjoyed the first, and is excited for them to see it this year when it comes out.

In an interview withBloody Disgustingin 2018, Cawthon revealed that the outline for Five Nights At Fredy’s 2 has already been written and would only be developed if the first film succeeded. Thankfully, that goal was achieved as the feature generated over $291 million worldwide at the box office and earned a high audience score of 86% onRotten Tomatoes.

Five Nights At Freddy’s 2is the upcoming sequel to the 2023 horror game, and it’s said to be based on the franchise’s second game. Returning to the feature includeJosh Hutchersonas Mike Schmidt,Elizabeth Lailas Vanessa,Piper Rubioas Abby, and Lillard as William Afton. Universal Pictures released a teaser trailer for the upcoming feature in April, revealing some new characters andthe introduction of the toy animatronics.
Unfortunately, a whole plot for the feature has yet to be revealed, and based on the trailer, it’s very unlikely that it’ll follow the exact events of the second game. Additionally, it’s unknown if there will beany YouTuber cameosin this upcoming feature.Markiplierrevealed last year thathe wouldn’t be involved in the sequeldespite missing out on a cameo role inFive Nights At Freddy’s as he hasn’t reached out. And whileMatPat(aka Matthew Patrick) has entered retirement from hosting his YouTube channel, it’s unlikely that Ness the waiter will make a comeback.
