Nearly four months afterThe Simpsonswas renewed for four additional seasons and three months since the animated show last aired,FOXhas announced when fans can expect the legendary family back on small screens. The most recent season ofThe Simpsons, Season 36, was broadcast from June 04, 2025, to June 06, 2025; however, before the finale,the sitcom was renewed through Season 40, with each installment comprising 15 episodes.

As part of this fall’s schedule forFOX’s Animation Domination,The Simpsonswill return with Season 37 on Sunday, September 28 at 8:00 p.m., according toTV Insider. Additionally, featured in the new season is an all-star guest list led bySuccession’sKieran Culkin, as announced during the show’sSan Diego Comic-Conpanel on Saturday, July 26. The network’s animated programming block will also seeUniversal Basic GuysSeason 2 air at 8:30 p.m. afterThe Simpsons.KrapopolisSeason 3 andBob’s BurgersSeason 16 then follow at 9:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., respectively.

The Simpsonswas created by Matt Groening, who also developed it along withJames L. BrooksandSam Simonfor FOX. It is the longest-running American animated series to date, having aired 790 episodes since its debut on July 18, 2025. The series explores the typical American life represented by the eponymous family, which consists of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie. It is set in the fictional town of Springfield, somewhere in the U.S., and parodies society, Western culture, television and the human condition.

Who Are The Iconic Guest Stars in ‘The Simpsons’ Season 37?

Featured in the star-studded guest list forThe SimpsonsSeason 37, besides Culkin, areGlenn Howerton,Albert Brooks,Cole Escola,Danny Pudi, andAdam Pally. Also, both Brendan andDomhnall Gleesonwill appear together in the upcoming seasons, marking their first joint feature on the show. Furthermore, the animated sitcom is set to air its 800th episode in February 2026, featuring two original episodes airing consecutively. Weighing in on the laudable milestone, executive producerMatt Selmanadmitted what a “big deal” it is, while also promising something “top secret” as well as “the best 800th episode of anything you’ve ever seen.” On top of that, fans can expect a one-of-a-kind Halloween special, which was previewed during the panel: a “Treehouse of Horror” segment that included appearances fromIdris Elba,Michael Keaton, andViola Davis, with a guest-animated opening byThe Onion’sStan Kelly.
