What Happened to Tommy Chauvin on ‘Swamp People’?

Trigger Tommy’s journey shaped the show.

In the Season 3 episode titled “Buried Secrets,“Landry and Pickle are on a mission to search for evidence of a lost Native American civilization in the swamp. Instead, they were shaken to their core when they found bones during their hunt. Starting with the jawbone, Landy stood back and simply said, “This blows my mind.” As Wheat said, “It’s a pretty eerie feeling that seeps in your bones when you have a person’s jawbone in your hand. You wanna kinda put it down and back up a little bit. “There’s a thick feeling in the air now, all of a sudden.” What started as a jawbone with “pearly whites” led to further body parts. It was an extremely exciting moment for the group, but a chilling discovery nonetheless. Now, was it part of the Native American civilization that they were searching for, or could it just be remains that may have washed ashore? Or worse, dumped there?

Troy Landry Found Himself In Trouble

Troy Landry has been a staple on both series since the start. WithSwamp Peoplenow in its sixteenth season, Mother Nature has played a part in the action. Landry continues to build up his fleet, adding 800 tags and two new boats. He continues to build upon his working relationship with Pickle. But it hasn’t always been perfect for Landry. In 2022,Landy was diagnosed with prostate cancer. As he said, his prostate was “ate up with cancer.’ Thankfully, he was able to overcome it and get back in the swamps.

Gator hunting is a world with rules, and Troy Landy allegedly didn’t follow them. Back in October, as reported by People,Landry was cited and charged with improper tagging of alligators. The incident occurred after a tip off to the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries that ‘“someone had been setting alligator lines in an area in Lake Palourde in St. Mary Parish that they did not have permission to be hunting on.“Landry claimed he had been “gifted” two tags, but agents “confirmed that none of the tag numbers matched any of the tags that were assigned for this area.” Additionally, a dead alligator was found floating in the lake “with the same line hanging from its mouth as the rest of Mr. Landry’s lines.” Despite the incident, Troy Landry and his recognizable voice are still going strong.Swamp Peopleairs Thursdays at 8:00pm on the History Channel.
