‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’: First Trailer Shows Tom Holland in Action

Everything we hadseenup to this point from the production ofSpider-Man: Homecominghinted that this film is going to be something special, and this week that trend continued with the reveal of thefirst trailerfor the film. The first trailer forJon Watts’Spider-Man: Homecomingfinds Peter Parker (Tom Holland) balancing the ordinary struggles of being a high-school student with the extraordinary struggles of being Spider-Man.

From the looks of the trailer we are going to get everything that the team behind this film promised from the start. Just from the trailer you get that high-school lifeJohn Hughesflavor that was teased very early on, and I felt those themes were place in front while the action that naturally comes from a Spider-Man movie took a back seat. The opening gave us a taste of that quick-witted humor we love from Spidey, and the interactions we saw with Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) were fantastic. If this trailer is any indication, it looks like we won’t be disappointed come July of next year.

In other Spidey news, Marvel and Sony have no doubt in the quality ofSpider-Man: Homecomingand have set arelease date for the sequel. We haven’t seen the movie yet but the follow-up has reportedly been set to be released on August 04, 2025.

‘Justice League: Part Two’ Delayed to Accommodate Standalone ‘Batman’ Movie

The awaitedJustice Leaguemovie is currently in post-production ahead of its November 2017 release, and while the sequel had a release date as well,Justice League: Part Twowill reportedly be delayedin order to make room forBen Affleck’s standaloneBatmanfilm.Zack Snyderwas set to directJustice League: Part Twonext, but now that Warner Bros. has decided on a schedule shift to add Affleck’sBatman, the director will have a slot to shoot a non-superhero movie.

The follow-up toJustice Leaguewas originally set to be released in June of 2019, but there hasn’t been official confirmation on what date the film is being pushed back to or which spot theBatmansolo film will take on the schedule. It’s very early on to be strongly disappointed about the delay since we haven’t even seen the first film yet, plus if it means we get to see the Affleck’sBatmanfilm a little sooner, I can live with that.

‘X-Men’: ‘New Mutants’ Filming in May?

From what we have heard recently, 20th Century Fox is still figuring out where theX-Menfranchise will go next, but apparently the studio isn’t completely lacking direction since it looks like they areshooting a newX-Menmoviesooner than you might have thought. According to reports, the studio has already secured shooting locations in Montreal, with constructions of the sets beginning in January to start filming the movie in May. It wasn’t revealed whichX-Menfilm would be shooting, but directorJosh Boonetook to Twitter to hint that it’s very likely going to beNew Mutants.

‘Power Rangers’: Zords Revealed in New Poster

We’ve seen quite a bit in promotional material from the upcomingPower Rangers, including looks at the Rangers,Rita Repulsa, and even Alpha 5. Something we haven’t gotten a clear look at yet have been the giant fighting machines called Zords. This week we got another look at the bots from anew poster, though unfortunately it’s really not that revealing. In the new poster we see all the Zords standing on a very misty hillside, where we can only really see the yellow ranger’s saber-toothed tiger while the other four Zords are pretty much just silhouettes. I understand they might be going for teases before revealing the full looks, but the Zords are an integral part of the original series so they should be a big selling point for the movie as well, and this poster doesn’t really cut it.

‘Legion’: New Trailer Offers Insight from the ‘X-Men’ TV Series

FX’sLegionhas been teasing us with different looks at the new series from showrunnerNoah Hawley, and this week we got more insight from the series with a look at anew trailerplus an official premiere date.LegionstarsDan Stevensas David Haller, a troubled mutant who is wrongly institutionalized for suffering from schizophrenia when his all of his “symptoms” are actually the manifestation of his abilities. The new trailer finds Haller going through the struggles of testing and treatment while he deals with his powers, we also learn that the entire story doesn’t take place in a mental hospital, plus that there are agencies tracking down mutants to be controlled or be killed. From this trailer and what we’ve seen so far,Legionlooks to be a unique story about being a mutant, without having to be part of the X-Men and save the world.Legionis set to premiere on February 8th.

‘Iron Fist’: Danny Rand Shows His Technique in New Images

We are getting that much closer to the Netflix debut of the last Defender withIron Fist, and we got new looks at the series this week with the release ofnew photos. The set of images feature Danny Rand (Finn Jones) showing off some moves, and also looks atRosario Dawson’s Claire Temple,Jessica Henwick’s Colleen Wing, andJessica StroupandTom Pelphreyas Joy and Ward Meachum. Not any context on what’s happening in these images, but they certainly add to the curiosity of what we will see withIron Fistthis March.

‘The Inhumans’: ‘Iron Fist’ Showrunner Recruited

We just talked aboutIron Fistimages and not knowing what the show will bring, but apparently the results were good becauseThe InhumansTV show hasbrought in showrunnerScott Buckto tackle the same duties for the ABC/IMAX team-up.Iron Fisthasn’t even debuted on Netflix, but Marvel Television has made the decision to re-team with Buck and have him serve as showrunner for the upcomingInhumansseries, which will premiere in IMAX theaters before joining the fall lineup of ABC. This reveal is encouraging forIron Fistand if that series hits the right way, then we should probably expect good things fromInhumansas well.
