Will Yoda Appear inEpisode VIII?

Jedi Council is packed with a ton of news today but the biggest story making the rounds is yet another rumor surfacing about the appearance of Yoda inEpisode VIII. A while back a report mentioned thatFrank Ozhad reported to the set ofEpisode VIIIbut it was not confirmed (or denied) that he had a part in the movie. Now, a Reddit User details their experience at Star Wars Celebration Europe, saying that one of the people at the Yoda Exhibit confirmed that another one of their puppets had to report to the set for the movie. This is only hearsay now, but it does make sense - both in story and if you compare some of the reports that had Frank Oz in Ireland during the filming ofEpisode VIIIas well as a report that mentioned a set was built to accommodate said puppet. The Council break this news down, with many hoping to see their favorite green Jedi make an appearance.

Did Mark Hamill Confirm He’ll Live ThroughEpisode VIII?

MoreEpisode VIIInews that could set the stage forEpisode IX-Mark Hamilltook to social media to shave off his beard as he prepares for his next project. What was interesting, however, is what he said. Hamill told his audience how happy he was to be losing the Jedi Beard and won’t miss it - untilEpisode IXthat is… Did Hamill just confirm that his Luke Skywalker character will live to fight another day inEpisode IX? Not so fast, says the crew - what about Force Ghosts? Luke could become one with the Force inEpisode VIIIand that would mean his beard would be there for a possible Force Ghost appearance in Episode IX. And so, the Council speculate on what it could all mean moving forward afterEpisode VIII.

Then it’s on to some news regardingRogue OnewithIan McDiarmidconfirming his Emperor character will not be featured inRogue One. Many have wondered and speculated (because it would make sense) that his character might appear, either on a hologram, or in passing, in the firstStar Wars Story. But alas, the Emperor has bigger fish to fry while the events ofRogue Oneunfold.

Riz Ahmed TalksRogue One

ActorRiz Ahmed, who will be playing Bodhi Rook in the upcomingRogue One, was on theLate Show with Stephen Colbertpromoting his HBO dramaThe Night Of.  Colbert, who is a big Star Wars fan, naturally took the opportunity to ask him if there was anything at all that he could tell us about the upcoming Star Wars film. Although he was not very forthcoming with any new information about the movie, he did describe the intensity of the filming process, where he had bladder issues that got considerably worse as the shoots went on. He did describe the movie a bit though, using ‘Boots on the Ground’ to describe the war aspect of the film.
