It’s hard to believe thatStar Wars: The Force Awakensis now merely weeks away. It seems like just yesterday we were all reeling from the news that newStar Warsfilms were being made in the first place, and now the first is on the cusp of release while three others are in various stages of production/development. Regardless, if you thought Disney had wrapped up itsForce Awakensmarketing campaign, you’re sorely mistaken. A few new images from the film have landed online, and one is actually pretty darn revealing.

As part ofRolling Stone’s cover story, we find out who’s in possession of that mutilated Darth Vader mask from the trailer, and it’s who you probably guessed—Kylo Ren. Indeed, we’ve been hearing for months now fromJ.J. AbramsthatAdam Driver’s villainous character has a certain fixation on Luke Skywalker’s papa, and this particular new image is somewhat chilling. The rest of the pictures aren’t that revealing—we get a look atDaisy Ridley’s Rey and BB-8 as well as Abrams and his crew conversing on theStar Warsset—but they’re new photos from the first film in a brand new saga, so they’re certainly noteworthy.

While the Rolling Stone story isn’t all that revealing either, we do get this tidbit fromHarrison Fordabout the strength of Abrams andLawrence Kasdan’s script:

“Nine times out of 10, J.J. was dead-on with it,” he says. “You know, it doesn’t feel right in your mouth, and you try a couple of other things, and then you say, ‘You know what? You’re right.’ And ‘Chewie, we’re home’” – an important moment in the story, he notes – “is manifestly better than ‘We’re home, Chewie,’ or a couple of the other options that I tried.”

And while everyone has sufficient praise for Abrams, producer/Lucasfilm presidentKathleen Kennedydid note that the filmmaker suffered from a bittoomuch creativity:

“[Abrams] is a fountain of ideas, nonstop. In fact, it usually exhausts everybody else around him. He’s endlessly curious, and he wants to try things, and then you finally have to say, ‘All right, we’re running out of time, you have to make a decision!'”

While the production was not without its difficulties, the film is now completed and locked, so Abrams and his team, in the end, made the deadline. Check out the new photos below.Star Wars: The Force Awakensopens in theaters on December 18th.
