This is the first time that fans in North America have had the opportunity to get their hands on a physical copy of the uber-popular series that took this year’s Crunchyroll Anime Awards by storm, so followers won’t want to miss out on the excitement. In addition to the debut 12 episodes, the Blu-ray package will also include plenty of extras for audiences to sink their teeth into and move further and further into the vibrant world first created by authorChugong.

Laying out the storyline for what has now become one of the most-watched anime, the first season ofSolo Levelingintroduced audiences to Sung Jinwooand the magical world that surrounds him. It’s a sort of rags-to-riches story but with weakness to strength, as, when we first cross paths with Jinwoo, he’s at the bottom of the ranks and theweakest of all the huntersin his universe. That all changes one day when he’s granted access to a mysterious system that allows him to level up, placing him on the fasttrack to become the most revered and feared hunter out there.

In addition to theearly adventures of Jinwoo, theSolo LevelingSeason 1Blu-rayrelease will, as mentioned, also feature swarms of bonus material. Both box sets will include a documentary titledThe Leveling of Solo Leveling, textless opening and ending videos, an assortment of character videos, and more. For those who might opt for the ultimate experience, the limited-edition release will also toss in a handful of exclusive pieces like four art cards and a sticker sheet. But, the prime piece of material to come with the limited-edition option is a 68-page artbook that’s overflowing with exclusive content like an interview with action directorYoshihiro Kanno, interviews with the Japanese cast and staff, and stills.

The Success of ‘Solo Leveling’

Earning the respect of both audiences and critics is a difficult thing to do, butSolo Levelinghas done exactly that. The anime series has landed a critics’ rating of 100% onRotten Tomatoes, while audiences hailed it at 92%. After an uber-successful first season run, viewers were eager to return to the thrilling world when the title returned for a second season, subtitledArise from the Shadow, which recently bowed out back in March.Season 3 has yet to be announced at this time.
