Solo Levelinghas been making waves since it was first released in 2024 and has continued to surpass expectations since its second season dropped in January 2025. Following itslatest accomplishment at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards, it seems this show has done more than bring home multiple accolades. According to its Global Distributor, Kakao Entertainment,Solo Levelingreigned in Crunchyroll’s charts across its regions. Kakao released a press release aboutSolo Leveling’s win at the Crunchyroll Awards, stating that it’s proud of the show’s achievements. It then added thatSolo Levelinghas pulled many viewers across multiple streaming platforms. Season 2 becamethe “most popular series” on Crunchyroll during the first quarter of 2025, charting in multiple countries and being a chart-topper on Amazon and other broadcasting platforms.
“Season 2, premiered in January this year, also reigned atop the charts across all Crunchyroll regions – including the English-speaking countries, Europe, the Middle East and North Africa – emerging as the most popular series of the first quarter. It also ranked first on the daily charts of Japan’s Amazon and ABEMA while becoming the top January release in Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and Southeast Asia through broadcasts via Medialink.”

Solo Levelinghas made numerous achievements in the past two years. It was nominated for 13 out of the 23 awards at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards and won nine, including Anime of the Year. Additionally, Season 2 became the"most-liked premiere in Crunchyroll’s history,“with over 129,000 likes in less than 24 hours.Solo Levelingreceived high praise from fans and critics alike. OnRotten Tomatoes, it earned a perfect critics' score of 100% and an average audience score of 91%. Meanwhile, onMyAnimeList, it earned a high score of 8.74.
Will ‘Solo Leveling’ Get a Third Season?
Despite its rising popularity, Season 3 of Solo Leveling has yet to be greenlit. In an interview withDeadline, Crunchyroll’s Head of Theatrical & DistributionMitchel Bergerstated that he’s unsure when the next season will be released but teased that there will be more content in the future and fans will be able to see more of this anime’s story. Meanwhile, Crunchyroll’s President,Rahul Purini, has acknowledged the show’s demand from fansand says they need to “find the right time” to start Season 3. Additionally, A-1 Pictures’Atsushi Kanekoand Aniplex producerSota Furuhashiteased a possible release date via a Q&A, predicting that thethird installment may be released in 2028based on the amount of work that has to be done.
