The next action thriller fromScott Adkinsjust got an exciting new look. Collider is thrilled to partner with Grindstone Entertainment to debut the first trailer forDiablo, the upcoming kidnapping thriller in which Adkins stars alongsideMarko ZarorandAlanna De La Rossa. The film follows Kris Chaney (Adkins), a former convict who gets released and goes on a dangerous mission. He kidnaps Elisa, the daughter of a powerful drug lord, Vicente, which leaves them both in grave danger from a sociopathic killer hell-bent on revenge against Vicente’s family. The first trailer showcases stunning hand-to-hand combat reminiscent of theJohn Wickfranchise, where Adkins most recently appeared inJohn Wick: Chapter 4. Adkins plays Killa across fromKeanu Reevesin the film, the card dealer who gets into a fight with John at the nightclub.
Adkins has appeared in a slew of action films over the years that stretch long before his most recent appearance inJohn Wick: Chapter 4. Some of his other work that came more recently was inThe Killer’s Game, the R-rated action thriller starringDave BautistaandPom KlementieffalongsideTerry Crews. Adkins also joined forces withDolph LundgrenandDermot MulroneyforSection 8, the action thriller following a former soldier who gets sprung from prison and is recruited by a shady government agency. He even teamed up withDave FrancoandJamie FoxxonDay Shift, the vampire horror film streaming on Netflix. He’s also approaching the 10th anniversary of when he made his MCU debut acrossBenedict CumberbatchinDoctor Strange, the 2016 MCU film that also starsMads Mikkelsen,Tilda Swinton, andBenedict Wong.

Who Is Writing and Directing ‘Diablo’?
WriterMat Sansomworked on the story forDiablowith stars Scott Adkins and Marko Zaror and also with directorErnesto Diaz Espinosa. He then wrote the screenplay, honing their collective creative vision into a compelling whole. Sansom is also known for his work onTwo to TangleandHang on St Christopher. Espinoza has been set as the director forDiablo, and he most recently worked with Zaror onThe Fist of the Condor, the martial arts action epic that’s currently streaming for free onTubiand Pluto TV. He’s also directed other movies in the past, such asThe ABCs of Death,Bring Me the Head of the Machine Gun Woman, andRedeemer.
