Universal Pictures has released the firstNight Schooltrailer for the upcoming comedy fromGirls TripandThe Best Man HolidayfilmmakerMalcolm D. Lee. The film starsKevin HartandTiffany Haddishand revolves around a man who has to go back to school to get his GED to become a financial analyst. Hard plays the student, while Haddish plays his teacher.

Hart actually has a screenplay credit on the film, alongsideMatthew Kellard,Harry Ratchford,Nicholas Stoller,John HamburgandJoey Wells, marking the comedian’s first screenplay credit outside of his standup specials. This film is really built around the comedic pairing of Hart and Haddish, and boy was it a brilliant decision to pair these two up beforeGirls Triphad come out and made Haddish a star. She’s now incredibly in-demand, and Universal has a Haddish-fronted comedy in their back pocket.

This trailer’s pretty funny, and again the major sell here is Hart and Haddish—but the inclusion ofTaran Killamas a principal with a tendency to “talk black” is also great.

Star Kevin Hart and producer Will Packer, who partnered for the hit Ride Along and Think Like a Man series, bring their signature style to Night School. The comedy from director Malcolm D. Lee (Girls Trip) follows a group of misfits who are forced to attend adult classes in the longshot chance they’ll pass the GED exam.
