Forget the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the View Askewniverse is where it’s at. From the mind of director, actor, producer, and podcasterKevin Smith, what started with the iconic 1994 filmClerkshas branched out into nine feature-length movies, comics, and even video games. And soon, fans will be welcomed back to the fold courtesy of the third installment of Smith’s comic series,Quick Stops. Collider is excited to not only exclusively break the news about the latest set of the black-and-white anthology project, but also give viewers a first look at some of its gorgeous artwork. This one is for all the Askewniverse fans out there, with each issue offering another chapter to those who long for a continuation of stories from the moviesChasing Amy,Dogma, andMallrats, with Smith also framing one as a way to pay homage to his late friend andMallratsstar,Shannen Doherty.

There’s plenty forChasing Amyfans to love inQuick Stops Volume 3, with Smith continuing the story after the credits rolled on the 1997 film. In the final scene of the film,Ben Affleck’s Holden McNeil gives a copy of his comic,Chasing Amy, toJoey Lauren Adams’ Alyssa Jones. What we didn’t get to see was what the book contains between the covers, but the wait is finally over with one issue ofQuick Stopsdetailing Holden’s experience of love and loss. Our exclusive sneak peek of the artwork showcases the colorful stories centered around Alyssa Jones — one of which will also reveal how the character got the nickname “Finger Cuffs.”

For theDogmafans out there, get yourselves ready for the reunion of a lifetime when Jay and Silent Bob (played in the film byJason Mewesand Smith) go on another adventure with their pal, Metatron — Herald of the Almighty, Voice of the One True God (played by the late, greatAlan Rickman). Finally, in what’s certain to be a tear-jerker of a read, Smith will honor Doherty with two different stories. One will be centered around the late actress’ sense of humor and the other will be a nod to Rene, her character inMallrats.

Who’s Behind ‘Quick Stops’?

Being that theView Askewniverseis Smith’s baby, it’s only right that he serves as the scribe behind each of the new stories centered around some of hismost beloved movies. Joining him will be a handful of artists, includingJohn Sprengelmeyer(Maskerade),Ryan Gajda,Mark Reihill(Off Girl), andAhmed Rafaat(Who Are the Power Pals?) with issues two through four containing lettering done byAndrew Thomas(Maskerade). In addition to lending his artistic vision to the stories, Sprengelmeyer will also craft two of the covers, whileKatie Bettinireceives credits on the third. Known for other graphic novel favorites likeSin CityandBuffy the Vampire Slayer, Dark Horse Comics back the project.
