I loveTwins. Not in real life, mind you. Twins are pretty freakin' creepy. ButIvan Reitman’s 1988 movieTwins, starringArnold SchwarzeneggerandDanny DeVito? Yeah, I love that movie. We were supposed to get a sequel calledTripletsthat would’ve addedEddie Murphyto the mix, but I’m kind of glad we didn’t, because the idea ofJosh BrolinandPeter Dinklageplaying unlikely siblings sounds much better. And no, I didn’t randomly pull their names out of a hat. TheAvengers: Infinity Warco-stars have signed on to star in the comedyBrothers, which Legendary just acquired following a bidding war.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, but who needs to know the plot when the cast has likely already sold you a ticket? This is a great pairing on paper, and while Brolin and Dinklage are known primarily for their dramatic chops, each happens to be an effective comic actor when they’re given the chance to go for a laugh instead of the jugular.

Here’s the catch – the script hails fromEtan Cohen. Now, on one hand, he’s the writer ofTropic Thunder(props!), but his creditsalsoincludeGet Hardand the newly-crowned Razzie winnerHolmes & Watson, which I didn’t even bother to see. I mean, I see everything, and was especially down for the reunion between the two stars ofStep Brothers. But I was warned to stay far, far away fromHolmes & Watson, which some thought could be a career killer for Cohen. That doesn’t appear to be the case, as multiple studios chased this package. That said, Cohen is not attached to direct the project at this time, so perhaps Legendary will find another filmmaker to bring his script to life.

Andrew Lazar(American Sniper) will produce under his Mad Chance banner, while Brolin and Dinklage will also produce via their respective companies, Brolin Productions and Estuary Films, whoseDavid Ginsbergwill also produce.
