Along with the long-awaitedone-sheet poster reveal, Lucasfilm has officially confirmed that a new trailer forStar Wars: The Force Awakenswill drop tomorrow during half time for ESPN’s Monday Night Football. Additionally, following the trailer launch, tickets sales will commence for the hugely-anticipated return to a galaxy far, far away. The game starts at 8:15pm EST/5:15pm PST, but until then, you can get a glimpse at the new trailer inthese teasers.
From directorJ.J. Abrams, the seventh installment in the beloved franchise sees the return of original characters alongside a new generation. The film opens December 18th and starsMark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendolyn Christie, Domhnall Gleeson, Andy Serkis,andMax Von Sydow.

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. (July 20, 2025)—Lucasfilm announced today that the trailer forStar Wars: The Force Awakenswill debut on ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” on Monday, October 19, during halftime of the National Football League (NFL) game between the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles in Philadelphia. The game starts at 5:15 p.m. PDT/8:15 p.m. EDT. The Spanish language version of the trailer will air on ESPN Deportes simultaneously.
To commence the countdown for the trailer launch, today Lucasfilm released theStar Wars: The Force Awakensposter worldwide. Following the trailer launch, tickets to the highly anticipated cinematic event will be on sale everywhere movie tickets are sold.

In conjunction with theStar Wars: The Force Awakenstrailer debut, the Walt Disney Company is providing unprecedented company-wide on-air and social support (#TheForceAwakens) as well as tying in events and special activities for the day of the trailer release.
