It’s been almost a year since the news broke thatLaw & Order: Organized Crimewas renewed for a fifth season, but that fifth season would be moving exclusively to Peacock. The latest seasons ofLaw & OrderandLaw & Order: Special Victims Unithave been well underway since last fall and just recently returned from midseason hiatus. That progress has hadOrganized Crimefans, and even the cast, chomping at the bit for news of Season 5. EvenDanielle Moné Truitt, who plays Sgt. Ayanna Bellposted to social media to tell fans she was as in the dark as they wereabout Season 5 news. Now, we finally have a premiere date and even a first look at the upcoming season of theChristopher Meloni-led series.

Peacock released both a trailer and a series of images for the new season, along with the official summary of Season 5:

Law & Order - Organized Crime S5 Key Art Poster

“Helping to expose the dark and complex criminal world of their targets are undercover expert Bobby Reyes (Rick Gonzalez) and tech genius Jet Slootmaekers (Ainsley Seiger). While on assignment, Stabler leans on his brother Randall (Dean Norris) to keep the Stabler family safe and thriving.

Season five explores the dangerous worlds of cross-border smuggling, high-tech domestic terrorism and a crime family intent on repaying Stabler for the injury he did them in Rome. As his worlds collide, Stabler will put everything on the line to protect the vulnerable and fight for justice.”

Elliott Stabler Is in Pursuit of Justice in ‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ Season 5

The trailer begins with a dimly illuminated Stabler explaining that his whole career has been in the pursuit of justice. With the series moving to Peacock, the trailer says, ‘Same Squad, New Rules.’ As the trailer continues, we see Stabler in a uniform with the name Hank on it more than once.We see it as he’s setting something on fire as well as in a car that looks like it’s about to be crashed into by a much larger vehicle.Another undercover mission for Stabler, perhaps? In the first-look images, we can see that the upcoming season will feature Stabler’s team, and we’ll also see the return of his brother, Randall (Dean Norris), and his mother, Bernie (Ellen Burstyn). Stabler’s family drama was a huge part of the previous season, and that doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon. This season, the team will also be joined bynewcomerJason Patric(The Lost Boys).

It’s unclear if the move to Peacock will no longer make it feasible for the show to regularly crossover with otherDick Wolfproperties, namelySpecial Victims Unit, where Detective Elliott Stabler originated. CouldMariska Hargitaypop up onOrganized Crimemore thanwhat’s already been planned? Or have the two shows grown too out of sync? What about vice versa? Could Meloni show up onSVUagain?
