Doctor Strangeis taking a trip toHarmontown. Principal photography already wrapped months ago on the latest Marvel Studios movie starringBenedict Cumberbatchas the Sorcerer Supreme. However,Communitycreator and writerDan Harmonhas been hired to pen script pages to be used for reshoots.

THRwas the first to report the news of Harmon joiningDoctor StrangedirectorScott Derrickson,C. Robert Cargill(Sinister), andJon Spaihts(Prometheus) all of whom have contributed to the screenplay. Harmon is also not the firstCommunityalum to work on the Marvel Cinematic Universe:JoeandAnthony Russohelmed episodes of the comedy series before going on to directCaptain America: The Winter Soldier,Civil War, andthe next twoAvengersmovies.

Usually, reshoots aren’t a signifier of trouble. Especially with major blockbusters, it’s common for studios to schedule additional shooting days beyond principal photography, and Marvel has made this standard practice for all of their films—Captain America: Civil Warhad reshoots, as didGuardians of the Galaxy. It’s interesting, though, that Marvel chose Harmon. Might he be lending some more comedic breath to the story of Stephen Strange?

We’ve heard Derrickson talk about the supernatural and borderline horror aspects of the film, whilethe two trailersreleased so far don’t focus too much on the humor element expected from Marvel movies. In their defense, those elements may not be ready yet for the marketing campaign (or maybe Harmon will be adding more of it), but the one piece of standout humor is that gag about the wifi password fromChiwetel Ejiofor’s Baron Mordo.
