One ofStephen King’smost popular novels is finally on its way to the big screen after many years in development hell.The Dark Tower, King’s story of a hero named The Gunslinger and his nemesis, The Man in Black,has officially been cast withIdris Elbaas Roland, the Gunslinger andMatthew McConaugheyas his foe the man in black.The movie will be directed byNikolaj Arcel. In a recent interview with him and King for Entertainment Weekly, Arcel confirmed the casting. The film is set to begin shooting in under two months in South Africa, with a release date of January 13th, 2017.
One of the most-anticipated non-superhero sequels in the works isJohn Wick: Chapter TwowithKeanu Reevesreprising his role as John Wick. In an interview with IGN, Reeves talked a bit aboutChapter Two, which sees his seasoned hitman traveling to Rome.Reeves said it was all about a continuation of the story and opening up the world, the underground world.He likened the first movie as a black belt with this new movie being a third-degree black belt.

Having just wrappedRogue Onefor Disney and Lucasfilm,Diego Lunalooks to be headed to another sci-fi franchise. According to the Wrap, Luna is in negotiations to star oppositeEllen Pagein Sony’s re-imagining of the 1990 sci-fi thrillerFlatliners. The original movie follows a group of medical students who experiment with “near death” experiences that involve past tragedies until the dark consequences begin to jeopardize their own lives. There is no release date as of yet.
