Also holding on to the #2 spot for the second week in a row is the animatedThe Peanuts Movietaking in $24.2 million for a 2 week worldwide total of over $90 million. In third spot is the new Christmas filmLove the Cooperswhich brought in just $8.4 million on its opening weekend. Coming in 4th is isThe Martian.The Martianactually climbs up from the last weeks #7 spot making just over $6.7 million to bring its worldwide total up to $478 million dollars. And rounding out the top 5 is the new filmThe 33which just managed to make over $5.8 million on its opening weekend.
As many of you will remember, back in April reports began circulating that actorRyan Goslingwas in negotiations to take on a lead role in directorRidley Scott’s upcomingBlade Runnersequel. Now, in an exclusive interview with Collider, Gosling has confirmed that he will indeed be in the new follow up to the Sci-Fi classic. Gosling will next be seen in the new filmThe Big Short.

Arquette will be playing a new character in the 4th installment of the franchise that is said to be a romantic comedy of sorts that revolves around the relationship between Buzz and Bo Peep.

The director recently said the title of that new film would beAlien: Paradise Lost, however, while speaking at the AFI Film Festival it looks like they’ve changed it up a bit. While talking about his current filmThe Martian, Scott said the following: “I was going to be doing what will be called ‘Alien: Covenant,’ which starts shooting next February, and we were struggling then with the screenplay there and then there was a phone call, somebody saying, ‘Listen, we’ve got this thing which is completely written called ‘Martian,’ and I said, ‘Huh.’ And I sped read it in an hour and by mid-afternoon, I talked to Fox…”.
