Pokémon the Series: XYand its follow-up seasons,XY Kalos QuestandXYZ, will be available on Netflix starting June 1. These are the 17th through 19th seasons of the long-running Pokémon anime, where, in this arc, Ash continues his journey to become a Pokémon Master in the Kalos region, accompanied by Clemont, Bonnie, and Serena. The XY storyline is based on the Generation VI gamesPokémon XandY, which were released for the Nintendo 3DS in 2013 and have sold over 14.57 million copies, according toGameRant.

What Was ‘Pokémon the Series: XY’ About?
Pokémon the Series: XYfollows Ash Ketchum as he begins a new journey in the Kalos region after concluding his travels through Unova with Cilan and Iris. During this arc, Ash catches several new Pokémon, including Froakie,which eventually evolves into Greninja. In later seasons, Ash and Greninja demonstrate the Bond Phenomenon. This unique transformation allows Greninja to take on the form of Ash-Greninja,significantly boosting its power and abilities. Only Ash and Greninja can perform this unique ability, and it was never seen again after the Kalos arc.
The season also includes character development for Ash’s traveling companions. One of them, Serena, is revealed to have known Ash as a child in the Kanto region. The two reunite in Kalos, and throughout the series, Serena is shown to have a crush on the young Pokémon trainer. In the final episode ofXYZ, it issubtly implied that she kisses Ash before saying goodbye.
