Wednesday Has Become a Pop Culture Icon

While Ortega is far from the first actress to makeWednesday Addams a household name, the character taking center stage for the first time in this series certainly helped her popularity. This has causedWednesday to be on everythingfrom blankets to t-shirts. Something that would certainly make this bleak teen want to die. She would probably be torturing NECA’s figures for some sort of demented satisfaction too.

However, all this has made a new generation fall in love withThe Addams Familyuniverse. Just like with the 90s films starringChristina Ricci, Wednesday has given the franchise the jolt it so desperately needed. Season 2 won’t be letting its growing list of merchandise get in the way either. It will have a larger focus on horror and explore parts of theAddams Familytree that fans haven’t seen before. The cast is expanding too, with the likes ofLady GagaandSteve Buscemijoining the ranks of Nevermore Academy this season. Maybe NECA will make some ghoulish figures of their new characters sometime down the morbid line.
