One of the weirdest movies I saw at the Toronto International Film Festival last year was writer/directorBen Wheatley’s dark comedyHigh-Rise. Based on the novel of the same name byJ.G. Ballard, the film is essentially a violent satire about class warfare, albeit permeated with Wheatley’s signature touch throughout, which means gleeful violence, head-trippy sequences, and some odd narrative turns in the second half of the movie. There were certainly those that took fully to Wheatley’s brand of satire, but I have to say the film wasn’t really for me....
