On August 02, 2025, Collider was invited out to the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, Calif. for a few hours, on behalf of CBS Films’ upcoming releaseWinchester: The House That Ghosts Built(in theaters on August 23, 2025), to get a private tour of the massive labyrinth-like mansion that’s considered the most haunted house in the world and to learn a bit about the upcoming feature film. Having never had the opportunity to see the house in anything other than photographs, I wondered what it would be like to explore and what the vibe might feel like, and I left feeling like every oddly shaped room, each hallway with a low ceiling and the endless staircases, all added up to a fascinating story about a woman who will forever remain a mystery herself....
